It has been a tragic week for law enforcement officials across our nation, and the International Public Safety Association expresses its condolences to everyone impacted by these tragedies. We understand the sacrifices and risks all first responders and public safety officials take each day you serve to protect us and our communities.
This week, a Colorado sheriff's deputy died after being shot Monday; two sheriff's deputies were killed Wednesday in Maryland; a police officer in Georgia is dead after gunfire broke out Thursday while he and other officers were serving a warrant; and a police officer shot Wednesday night in North Dakota did not survive, authorities say. In response to these tragic events, we want to formally show our support of the National Sheriffs' Association's Wear and Display BLUE campaign.
The Wear and Display BLUE campaign is to encourage all law enforcement professionals, all first responders, supporters, and citizens to please Wear and Display Blue TODAY and join us in a moment of silence to honor and remember the sacrifice at 1PM EDT today.
Stay Strong. Be Vigilant. Be Safe.
