Treasurer- a Volunteer, Leadership Position

The International Public Safety Association is looking for a new Treasurer. 

As an Officer of the International Public Safety Association (a legally binding position), the Treasurer has a legal and ethical responsibility to ensure that the organization does the best work possible in pursuit of its goals. The Treasurer must support the purpose and the mission of the organization, and shall act responsibly and prudently as its steward. 

This volunteer position requires up to 15 volunteer hours per month. 

The Treasurer must, at a minimum: 

  1. Attend all board meetings. Meetings are remote. 
  2. Provide a financial status update and reports to the Board of Directors at every meeting including an overview of monthly and YTD revenue and expenditures.
  3. Take a leadership role in the development of the organization's annual operational budget and present it to the Board of Directors for consideration and approval. 

Minimum qualifications:

  1. Per our Bylaws, must be an Active Level Member
  2. Must be proficient in QuickBooks. 
  3. Must have access to internet connection and computer. 
  4. Must learn how to use the IPSA's website functions to post financial reports and information. 
  5. Must be organized and proactively communicate with the Board and leadership team.
  6. Previous experience serving as a Treasurer for a non-profit is highly desired. 
  7. Must be willing to learn the Arizona laws associated with the position. 
  8. Must be willing to become familiar with the Arizona Corporation's Commissions legal requirements for the organization.
